Day 1 - Arrival
After your arrival in Mexico City, you will be met by your guide, who will take you to your hotel in the center of the metropolis.
Day 2 - City Center - Museo de Antropología - Condesa (B)
After their first breakfast in Mexico City, you will visit today the Zócalo, the cathedral, the remains of the great Aztec temple. On the wall frescoes of Diego Rivera in the National Palace you will learn a lot about the moving Mexican history. By metro you can reach the Mercado Sonora, where we will find a fascinating collection of witchcraft, white and black magic. Continue to Chapultepec Park to the Anthropological Museum where your guide will explain the prehispanic archaeological artefacts. Afterwards, visit the Art Deco district of Condensa, with the Parque España, where you will meet the shaman's marriage kateotl. From him you will learn about the culture of the Mexicans and their prehispanic diet and healthy lifestyle as well as special methods of healing.
Day 3 - Tlatelolco - Teotihuacán - Tepoztlán (B)
Today we are on the way to Tlatelolco, the "Place of three cultures". There you can admire Aztec foundations, a colonial church and a monastery. Then you will be on a 40 minute drive to Teotihuacán, where you will be able to see the excavation site extensively. We also mount the sun and moon pyramids. After lunch, we set out for the hotel in Tepoztlán, 132 km away. In the evenings you have the opportunity to pamper yourself with special massages and to treat bone directions.
Day 4 - Tepoztlán - Tepozteco - Temazcal (B)
You will visit the pre-Hispanic temple "El Tepozteco" on the mountain of the same name by an easy ascent. Afterwards you will visit the Dominican church with adjoining monastery and the unique market of Tepoztlán. There you have the opportunity to taste old traditional and traditional dishes. In the afternoon we will experience a Temazcal (pre-Hispanic sweat lodge) with a local ceremonial master.
Day 5 - Las Estacas - Puebla (B, L)
After a 45-minute drive, we visit the natural reserve of Las Estacas with the river Rio Las Estacas, which also has its source. While swimming in the crystal clear waters, you can admire the extraordinary nature panorama. We then drive to the national park Zapotitlan Salinas, which is located 300km away, where a unique cactus landscape awaits us. We take our Cabañas within this unique environment.
Day 6 - Hike through cacti landscapes - Oaxaca (B, L)
With a zapotec hiking guide we go on a three-hour hike to abandoned caves with a cave painting. A temporary guide explains the importance of the cacti, plants and medicinal plants, which will be eaten after an exotic meal. After lunch, the trip continues across the Panamericana through the Sierra Madre to Oaxaca. Arrived, you can enjoy your evening in indian style.
Day 7 - Monte Albán - Oaxaca City (B)
In the early morning you will visit Monte Alban, where it can be very hot depending on the season. This Zapoteken site lies on a worn mountain and has some construction phases and was already active before our time calculation. A treasure of 121 objects, including gold and silver, jade and crystal, can be admired in the Cultural Museum next to the Dominican church in Oaxaca. In the afternoon we will stroll through the Benito Juárez market, where you will be able to sample roasted grasshoppers and other exotic dishes. We will spend the evening at the Zócalo, where we will surely enjoy a little Marimba music.
Day 8 - Tule - Mezcal Distillery - Tehuantepec (B, L)
First stop of the day is Tule, where an ancient and gigantic tree, or more precisely a swamp cypress stands. The tree certainly served as a shady spot for the Zapotecs. Your second stop is at a local Mezcal distillery where you will be shown the manufacturing process of this traditional agave fire. The journey continues through an adventurous landscape, from the Sierra Madre del Sur to the plain of Tehuantepec. Before you reach your destination, you can visit the Pacific for a short visit and sample some seafood on the beach. In the evenings you can relax in the hotel's swimming pool with all the travelers.
Day 9 - Chiapas - Juchitán - Cañon del Sumidero - San Christobál (B)
Today you will travel to the state of Chiapas and visit a local Indian market in Juchitán. At this place you will learn a lot about the Muxes (third sex) and the exotic food. Continue on the way to a short stop at a rearing station for iguanas. There is another highlight: a two-hour boat trip on the "Rio Grijalva" to the Cañon del Sumidero. In this natural reserve you can find many animal species and especially birds and river crocodiles can be observed. Finally, after an exciting day, you will reach San Cristobál and get our hotel near the Zócalos. In the evening, you will explore the historical center with a tour guide.
Day 10 - Mayan sanctuary - Maya market - San Juan Chamula (B)
The day begins with a visit to a Mayan naturalistic site where you can get advice from the local Maya doctors. A shaman also offers his traditional healing skills and there is the possibility to purchase natural medicine in the pharmacy on the spot. Afterwards, go to the special Mayamarkt where goods are made from natural products. Continue to the Indian village of San Juan Chamula, where the inhabitants belong to the tribe of Tzotzil. There you will get impressions and return to San Cristobál, where we enjoy the flair.
Day 11 - Agua Azul - Lacandón Rainforest (B)
In the early morning drive through the rainforest to Ocosingo to Agua Azul. The cascades have the most beautiful blue tones you can imagine. For the fish lovers, there are fish specialties and can be bathed in the water cascades at will. Afterwards we continue towards the Guatemalan border in the Lacandón rainforest. There you will spend the night on the river in Cabañas.
Day 12 - Lacandón - Temple - Palenque (B, L)
After breakfast, a Lacandón Indian will guide you through the jungle to a hidden temple where rituals are still held today. Afterwards there is the opportunity to bathe in a cascade. At noon, head towards Palenque, where you can cool off in the hotel pool.
Day 13 - Palenque - Calakmul (B)
They are equipped today with the Palenque tropical rainforest. Afterwards we continue to Campeche to the entrance of the Calakmul site where we will find a beautiful lodge in the middle of the jungle.
Day 14 - Calakmul - Bacalar (B)
After breakfast, you will be taken to the Calakmul site by a special vehicle. The temple grounds are well preserved and on a walk through the forest you will be able to observe some animals. Then continue to the lagoon Bacalar, near the border with Belize. The "Lagoon of Seven Colors" invites you to bathe with its blue and turquoise tones. The hotel, where you will stay overnight, is located directly on the lagoon.
Day 15 - Riviera Maya - Cancun (B)
On your last holiday, we drive along the Caribbean coast towards the Riviera Maya. Once there, We will visit a cenote and treat yourself to a refreshing drink in the bright, clear water. In the late afternoon, say goodbye to your travelers and go to your beach hotel or Cancun airport.
