GUELAQUETZA OAXACA - colorful and diverse
It began several hundred years ago as a traditional ritual for the Gods and has developed into a colourful and vibrant event for people of all ages. The Guelaguetza festival is traditionally held in Oaxaca on two Mondays in July and enchants thousands of visitors every year.
The seven largest Indian tribes, dressed in their traditional clothes, gather in the beautiful city of Oaxaca to perform traditional dances, sing their songs and show their customs to the visitors. This spiritual experience attracts more people each year and is an incentive for you to examine Mexico's different cultures more closely.
