Aztecs and Maya
We have recently returned from our tour to Mexico with Mextrotter and want to thank you so much for a wonderful, wonderful holiday. From the moment that we were picked up from the airport in Mexico City to the last day of our tour everything was great.

Fabulous trip in Mexico
I had fabulous trip in Mexico, which I really enjoyed a lot. You have put together a very nice itinerary that balances visits to the main Maya sites in Yucatan with other relaxing highlights like the trip to the beautiful waterfalls of Agua Azul and especially Rio Lagartos, which was really great offering not only flamingos but also many other birds like pelicans, cormorants, and on top of that crocodiles. Melanie did an outstanding job as a tour guide and the whole group had a lot of fun! Mauricio was a great driver, managing the difficult roads fabulously. I always felt safe with him.
I am very happy that I made the trip and would recommend it to others, in particular for someone who wants to enjoy Yucatan in a small group and wants to see not only the fantastic Maya sites but the whole diversity of Yucatan.
Mexico Tour with Mextrotter
Well, we are back home after a very successful tour with Mextrotter! The tour was very well organized. It covered the essence of the Mexican ancient History from Mexico City up to Cancun area pretty efficiently.
Your guide Cesar: Nice, being respected and well accepted by the group. He is a professional on all topics! Also: Cesar was very helpful and exercising a lot of patience, especially at the Archeological sites. Your driver Cristian: He took us (the group) from Mexico City to Cancun with utmost care. We all enjoyed the tour.

Our wonderful time in Mexico
I would like to thank you and the Mextrotter team for our recent tour of Mexico - Aug 2016, we had a wonderful time. Throughout the process of planning our itinerary and making the final decisions on where to go, your prompt replies and advice was much appreciated. We found your price to be great value for money, the hotels were good and the tour certainly lived up to our expectations.
With Jane's help we were able to book extra days to the tour to relax by the beach. She also was great in reassuring us when our plane were delayed and ensured the transfer driver was informed. Alba was great in organising our wedding on a beautiful private beach and helped the day to go smoothly. We really appreciated both of their help.
Many thanks once again for a fabulous holiday of a lifetime

Patient and helpful guides
Having spent ages checking out Mextrotters online and found no bad reviews, now we have done one of their tours we understand why.
We did the Aztec/Maya express tour in Feb 2016 and Mextrotters helped us with booking additional nights in Mexico City.
Jane was so patient and helpful with the organisation prior to the holiday. The website is excellent and has a lot of valuable information. We paid in advance and everything worked as per the website. We were very happy with the price.
Once on holiday we were combined with another tour as there was only 2 of us for our tour. This was not a problem at all and worked well for us because we ended up with 3 different guides giving us such varied information on Mexico.
So being a little apprehensive that it was all going to work we were so pleased to see a man holding a card with our name at Mexico City airport and we were totally looked after from there. You just need to accept the Mexican way that it will all work out and not worry.
Enrique in Mexico City was very helpful and got us great seats on the bus to Oaxaca, superb views of the erupting Popacatepetl volcano.
Kevin who did our Mexico City Walking Tour was so interesting and great company.
Simone our guide on the main part of the tour, looked after us well, was very interesting and well organised.
Mitch for the last day at Chitchen Itza and Tulum was excellent, again we learnt even more.
The star was Edgar our driver who although did not speak english was such a good driver and very courteous at all times. We covered a lot of miles. We felt completely safe.
We recommend Mextrotter to anyone looking for a tour of Mexico.

Group trip March 2015
Thank you we had a great time on the Mexican Mayan Tour. We particularly enjoyed the variety of sights and events. There was a very good mix of archaeological and cultural. I was expecting to be impressed by the ancient sights but I found the visit to the rug making, the mescal production and the Indian village equally fascinating in their own ways. Our guide was friendly enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the ancient buildings. Some of the bus journeys were long (as we were warned) but the ever changing scenery compensated for the long drives. We were given time to explore and enjoy the markets. I would thoroughly recommend this tour and was very pleased with the impressive and efficient organisation behind it. Excellent value for money.
Our final three nights were in the Om hotel in Tulum. This is a great hotel for a relaxing and peaceful end to the tour. For anyone who doesn't mind living simply (salt water showers and power cuts), this is a must. Right on the very beautiful sandy beach, excellent swimming, plenty of sun beds and umbrellas. Excellent food in the restaurant which offered fine views over the sea, very good chef produced a selection of Mexican and European style food, crazy cocktails. Mixed clientele (mainly young French families when we were there), no one would feel out of place here.

Wild through Mexico
We had a great time on the tour. It was very well organised, covered the major attractions, plus some others we didn't really know about. The hotels were all pretty good and as we expected for the price. The tour bus was reasonably comfortable (we were a group of 14, so the maximum) but of course being a bit smaller than the big coaches, allowed us to go where others couldn't.
Victor our driver was excellent - always on time, courteous, cheerful and happy to help. He had to drive in some difficult conditions and we always felt very safe on the road. He and Kevin our guide seemed to make a very good team, which is important.
However, what really made the trip was our guide Kevin - his knowledge of all things (not just archaeology and history) but wildlife, people, politics, economics, religion, music etc was astounding. He really made the archaeological sites come alive for us in a way which was very special and I don't think we would have got from any other tour. His English was excellent, and he was a great guide - always happy to answer questions and a very positive person all round.
We would definitely consider using Mextrotter again as well as recommending it to our friends.

The best I liked was the pyramids ... travelling with Mextrotter was amazing. We couldn't have picked a better company to travel with. We highly recommand them, definitely.
I just wanted to thank you once again for a great trip through Mexico. We consider ourselves lucky indeed to have had Kevin as our guide, his English was perfect and absolutely fluent and he was so patient and courteous to go through all the long explanations twice , in German and again in English for just the two of us. It must have been truly exhausting. I couldn't do it myself for all those days and all those complicated sites.
We also really appreciated his no-nonsense approach and his impressive blend of facts, irony and humor, not to mention his conversational ability on any subject. All of which of course is a result of his first-rate knowledge and insight into his country and his professional knowledge as a trained Archaeologist. We were lucky indeed to have him.
Please also extend our thanks and appreciation to Carlos the driver, who was endlessly polite and so professional all the time on those endless hours of driving.
It was thanks to your people-skills that the mixed-nationality group was so cohesive and co-operative every step of the way.
Never a boring moment or cause for complaint. With this level of service, we shall absolutely recommend the services of Mextrotter to anyone we know considering a trip to the countries in which they operate.

Azteca & Maya
We attended an Azteca & Maya Classic Tour in April 2013. We chose Mextrotter because we liked their webpage and we read very positive feedback about their tours. Our tour were organized on a very professional way, we got exactly what we were promised. From the first day we felt that we are in good hands, so the trip was safe and enjoyable. All the accommodation were clean and comfortable a few were marvelous (e.g. San Cristobal). Kevin was born to be a guide, his knowledge about the history is brilliant and we really admired his untiring energy. Our driver, Adrian also did a hard, excellent work, without any mistakes. The program was so interesting and diverse that we enjoyed it like kids.
We recommend Mextrotter for people who are interesting in history, nature and daily life of Mexico.
Thanks again for Mextrotter's staff for our wonderful 2 weeks.

We went on the Mayan Aztec tour which is our first ever tour. Mexico is a beautiful country with amazing scenary and history. The weather was much better than English weather!
Thanks to Aimee for her support before the trip and Alberto, our driver, who we couldn't have done without!

Maya World Yucatan
Marvellous Mextrotter Yucatan tour January 2012: 2500 km of Maya sites!
I did the Mextrotter Maya World Yucatan trip at the end of January 2012. I am interested in ancient civilizations and this tour covered about 2500 km of Maya sites in Mexico. From my privileged seat in the minivan (being the only single in the group, I got offered the passenger seat in the front which allowed me more chances to ask questions to our charming guide/chauffeur Anya). All my cotravellers were German speaking, so I freshened up my high school German a lot, but alas, I did not acquire much of Spanish. We visited Tulum (where I got a highly educated English guide for me alone), Chicanna, Calakmul (a not so much visited site which features the highest Maya temple at 44m, where we saw lots of monkeys, boar, pawns and deer roaming in the forest), Palenque, Agua Azul and Mishol-ha falls, Champoton, Campeche (after having a marvellous fish dinner with our feet in the sea sand), Uxmal (near the site we visited the home of a traditional Maya family where we learned some interesting cultural aspects form contemporary Maya culture), Merida (where had a tequila party around the pool on the top floor of the hotel), Chichen Itza (the busiest site we visited), two cenotes (where we had an exotic cool dip), Valladolid (small cute town where we had our “last supper”) and National Park Rio Lagartos (where we had a mud bath covering ourselves with grey, sticky, oily mud all over: we ended up looking like the Mad Men From Borneo). At the end of the tour I had booked three extra nights at Club Akumal Caribe at Akumal, on advice of one of Mextrotter’s excellent assistants. This place was just 20m from the sea shore, and with the great coral riff at only 50m into the sea): a rather remote place for doing some snorkeling and finding many fish I would like to get into my aquarium.
In the end, I really felt boosted by the combination of the Maya cultural tour and my few days at the beach. I can really recommend this formula to everyone, of all ages and cultures.

Overall we are very satisfied with the tour we made because of the following aspects:
- Professional tour guide, a very warm person
- Very good route, in combination with very satisfactory hotels, especially in combination with the Baja California tour we did all worked out really well
- Good combination of the tour elements - not all agencies or operators are as flexible as Mextrotter- all elements we on time and complete, put under one umbrella let´s say. So, we hope to meet the next time, probably in 2012 again!

Our Aztecs tour in Mexico!
We had a wonderful tour organised by Mextrotter. We wanted to do the Aztecs and Maya tour with 7 persons, and since no one else subscribed for the same date we had a private group. Enrique was our guide and he was just wonderful. He was funny and told us many things about the country and the places we visited. He took us to places that were not in the program, which we liked because most of the times they were places with very few tourists. We loved the cenote Ekbalam for example he took us to. Overall we had a wondeful tour and we would definitely recommand Mextrotter to anyone!
Aztecs & Maya
I am glad that we can tell you and your team that we are safe at home again. We had some delay with the flight and transfer to the airport (but the costs were refunded by mextrotter immediately). The tour was perfect, it will stay in our memory for a long time, and again, thanks for that! We are also very thankful to Javier, the guide we had during our tour. There was hardly any question he left unanswered, and he always had a joke on his lips to share. He made this tour a wonderful experience as well.
Real Mexican Experience
Thank you both (Jane and Kevin) so much, particularly Kevin of course, for such a great Mexican tour experience.
At the time of booking, we did not realise that our tour would go ahead, even with a minimum of two people.
Therefore we were very surprised to discover we were on a tour of only three, us and Charlie from Salem.
We have travelled the world, and been on several small group tours, and this was our first with Trottermundo, but will certainly not be our last.
This was the first time we have booked a tour ourselves online, without going through a travel agent, and although we were not sure how successful it would be, it exceeded our expectations.
The itinerary was great, a real Mexican experience. The hotels were all of a very acceptable standard, some far exceeded our expectations.
Kevin, our tour guide, was wonderful. He had the challenging task of being our driver, as well as guide, and drove us for in excess of 3000kms, all in good humour, and without a single incident.
Kevin's organisation was faultless; all went smoothly and to plan.
But best of all, was Kevin's outstanding knowledge. Sure, he was a qualified archeologist , and therefore at all the archeological sites he knew everything, but his general knowledge about things Mexican was also outstanding, there was never a question he could not answer, well, there may have been a couple of minor ones, but always a great theory or opinion was forthcoming!
The four of us became a small family, and all enjoyed being together for most of every day, for nearly two weeks, without a single cross word between us, and just a few easy compromises relating to choices of activities.
I will have no hesitation in recommending Trottermundo to people in New Zealand, and we will certainly book online with the company again in the future, probably Brazil for next year.
I would suggest that anyone going to Mexico asks to have Kevin as their guide; his passion and personality are wonderful.
