Frequently Asked Questions about public bus tours in mexico
@What do you mean by a bus trip? How does that work? Is the guide included?
What type of luggage is recommened for the bus tours?
Bulky luggage is generally not a problem when travelling by bus. Once you get into the bus your luggage will be stored below, and it will be delivered to you once you reach your destination. Many times, the hotel will be close to the bus station (this is the case in San Cristóbal) and the best way to reach it is walking. This is why we recommend you to travel with a backpack, or at least a trolley. Mexican pavements are usually pretty uneven and walking with big suitcases can be quite uncomfortable.
What do you mean by a bus trip? How does that work? Is the guide included?
Travelling by public bus is very comfortable; we will send you your first class tickets before your departure. This is by far the cheapest way to travel in Mexico. Our Organizaiton is in charge of providing the e- tickets, book hotels and the so-called shuttle services, which are one-day private tours for destinations that cannot be reached by first class busses. In addition, our competent guides will give you the best possible service.
In the shuttle taxi tours and transfers, we asociate different local partners depending on the regions. In Mexico City, we offer trips in English and while in Oaxaca, Chiapas & Yucatain the trips like transfers, excursion to the archaeological excavations are carried out according on your own (without a guide).
Evidently, you will need to rely a little more on your own initiative, since a guide will not be with you every leg of the tour. This service is provided in our small group tours or our tours with a private guide. You will need to take a taxi from the bus station to the hotel and vice versa. Likewise, all visits to the main squares of every city will be done on your own, and in case there are some delays in the bus times, you will need to find out by yourself where to go. On the other hand, this gives you a lot of freedom!
