Jungle Adventure

The term "jungle camp" was popularized by a certain TV show, which is why some of its connotations may be familiar to you. Not to worry, our jungle adventure in places such as the Lacanjah river or the Calakmul Biosphere Reserve does not require you to eat worms (unless you are the type of person who likes to empty the bottle of Mezcal). The food prepared by the indigenous people from Lacandon Jungle is simple, but 100% worm free. You may have a small scare of two courtesy of the sound of ripe fruit falling on the tin roof of your lodge in the middle of the night, or of the shining eyes of an opossum, hanging upside down close to your sleeping quarters.

In the end, it is all part of the adventure in the middle of the jungle: it is about seeing and hearing up close. Listen to the crickets engaged in an all night long competition to see who makes the most noise. Sometimes their loud chirping silences the roaring river making its way through the lush jungle vegetation.

A walk through the jungle, lead by a Lacandon Indian, is the best way to explore the wonders of this magical place. We will take you to hidden temples and waterfalls in which you can cool of and, since only nature is watching, why not spend some time alone with your partner? Just take into consideration that in the jungle there is always some little creature observing you: perhaps a toucan or a nosy spider monkey who will run to his monkey family to gossip about the tourists.
